Seacor Marine made the decision to bring the 2018 built Seacosco Yangtze, a platform supply vessel, to the company’s home port before it heads north to Aberdeen for work.
The 2018 built ship was delivered to the company in late April of this year and has just completed a 45 day voyage from China where it was built.
The ship is 84m long, 18m wide and can carry up to 4,000 tonnes of cargo.
A spokesman for Seacor Marine said: “She is exceptionally fuel efficient having diesel electric propulsion and she is fitted with the latest state of the art Rolls Royce control systems to ensure that she is highly manoeuvrable.
“Seacor Marine and its subsidiaries, Boston Putford Offshore Safety Ltd and Windcat Workboats Limited, work closely with Associated British Ports in Lowestoft and support many suppliers in the region, all of whom will be pleased to assist with the vessel’s final preparations before she goes on contract.”
