The port authority in Zeebrugge is in full preparation for Brexit and urges every one to be ready for a No Deal Brexit after 29 March 2019. In case of No Deal, it is of the utmost importance to guarantee a smooth flux of cargo flows, despite extra customs formalities. Only together we can be Brexit proof!

Take the necessary measures!

Have you registered for an EORI number with the Customs administration? Also, check which other steps of the preparation process you need to run through! Help yourself by following theRX/SeaPort WIZARD, which focuses on the transportation of goods to (Export) and from (Import) the UK through a Belgian port. Each phase of the import and export flow is illustrated: booking & pre-announcement, customs declaration, guidelines and procedures for departure and arrival at the terminal. The wizard is available via

Sign up for E-Desk Ferry RX/SeaPort platform

RX/SeaPort has developed a digital system, E-Desk Ferry, which focuses particularly on ferry transportations. Through the system, export users notify the terminal operator of the arrival of their cargo. This notification contains the type of document, customs office, MRN number, unit number, terminal and booking reference. This data is continuously available for the terminal operator, which creates digital transparency and prevents waiting periods at the terminals. In the case of import, users will notify the terminal operator about the cargo’s customs status with corresponding customs document numbers (MRN).

Based on this information, the cargo can be released for transport!

Come to Zeebrugge after 29 March using the FLUX app

The FLUX app is designed to guide truck drivers to and through our port. The Flux app is developed by the port authority in Zeebrugge and Be-Mobile. The app will prove to be a useful tool in case of a hard Brexit. FLUX offers real-time information such as traffic updates, route adjustments and parking opportunities to truck drivers. By combining the RX/Seaport platform and the Flux app, terminals will be aware of the location of cargo, and will be able to communicate with the truck driver.

If necessary, the app can also guide a truck driver to a nearby parking or waiting space. The port authority has installed two extra locations for cargo that has not been cleared for transport.

Do not come to the terminal without the necessary formal requirements!

Please be in order with the formal requirements before you enter the port. Contact the terminal and be aware of the access procedures before you reach the gate. If needed, consult the list of customs representatives.

As a port authority, we aim for a fluent flow of cargo in our port. Cargo that does not fulfill the administrative requirements, will not be admitted to the terminal and will cause unnecessary delays.

Together we can be Brexit proof!
