The port has 15ha of secure open storage and is the site of BAE Systems’ submarine design and manufacturing facility. 110,000 tonnes of cargo are handled by the Port of Barrow team each year, comprising an array of different products including limestone, sand, aggregates, granite, woodpulp and even gas condensate. Heavy lift projects are also routinely and efficiently carried out to support the offshore energy sector.
