Collinson Tensile completes 9,800m2 storage building for Holcim UK at their new Tilbury Cement Terminal.

Collinson Tensile were selected by Holcim UK (formerly Aggregate Industries) to design & construct a steel frame tension membrane building for the storage hall element of the project as part of their flagship materials imports and manufacturing facility at Tilbury, London

Set in a prime location on the River Thames, the state-of-the-art facility marks a bold step forward in Holcim UK’s mission to make sustainable construction a reality.

At Tilbury Cement Works, Holcim are transforming how building materials are made, moved and delivered. With a focus on innovation, agility and environmental responsibility, the terminal is set to become a key hub for Holcim UK’s cement product ranges.

Once operational, the advanced facility will manufacture and supply a diverse range of traditional and innovative products, including GGBS, ECOPlanet and other low carbon and circular cementitious materials.

The building measures: 175m length and 56m wide (clear span) with a 15m eaves height. The 9800m2 building and wider facility is a striking feature at Tilbury showcasing Holcim’s impressive facilities.
