MCA approved organisations – updated 20/07/2020

Details

Please find attached a list of all organisations whose method for determining the verified gross mass (VGM) of a packed container has been approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). These shippers can provide a VGM to port terminals and ships masters (or their representatives) which meet the SOLAS chapter VI amendments.

Please note: method 1 users (those who weigh the packed and sealed containers) do not require MCA approval numbers at this time.

To apply for approval please click here

More information about the container weighing amendment can be found here and information on how to become an approved organisation can be found here.
