PortRail Group appoints Neil Stoddart as Head of Forestry & Marine
The UK leader in bulk material handling and logistics PortRail Group has appointed Neil
Stoddart as its new Head of Forestry & Marine. His appointment strengths the firm’s senior
team as it expands its specialist logistics, shipping and material handling capabilities across
Scotland, the wider UK and Ireland.

A respected figure in round timber harvesting, haulage and shipping operations, Neil’s
appointment follows the successful integration of his business, Creel Maritime, into PortRail
Group. He brings more than 30 years’ experience in the sector and will oversee the
development of PortRail ‘s forestry and marine activities, including timber haulage, forest
infrastructure, shipping, floating piers and marine logistics.

Throughout his career Neil has developed a strong reputation for delivering practical,
commercially focused solutions, building long-term relationships and managing complex
operations in some of the most challenging environments across Scotland. He will work
closely with PortRail customers, stakeholders and industry partners to support growth,
innovation and sustainable development across the round timber supply chain.
