Peel Ports has begun preparations for Brexit at its Liverpool docks site – by clearing a huge site ready to help smooth over any potential disruption after October 31.
The firm granted the ECHO exclusive access to its site at the Port of Liverpool at Seaforth , days after accepting government funding to improve resilience ahead of Britain’s expected departure from the EU at the end of the month.
Liverpool was one of 16 UK ports to share a £10m Brexit preparation fund from the government, which was announced last week .
Peel Ports has said it is “as ready as can be” for whatever happens on October 31 – be it a deal with the EU, no deal, or a further delay.
