Responding to the Government’s launch of the £12 million Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) phase 2 Tim Morris, CEO of the UK Major Ports Group, said

“It’s welcome to see the first allocation of the Government’s £206 million green maritime funding launched. UK ports demonstrated their innovative green credentials by being big participants in the first phase of the CMDC. We expect similar interest in this round. Longer term we’re looking for more clarity on the road map for future funding allocations and, in particular, how Government plans to support industry investment in green infrastructure and nearer commercial technologies. Those are the keys for enabling emissions reductions right now.”
