In the wake of further recent fatalities involving personal watercraft (Jet Ski’s) in UK waters please find attached a letter from the UK Harbour Masters Association to the Minister for Maritime, Kelly Tolhurst MP calling for long awaited action in regulating the dangerous use of such non-defined craft within ours Ports and along our coasts.

Letter to the Minister for Maritime

Urgent action is long over-due to prevent further tragedies and improve the safety of the UK’s coastal waters and the communities that use them.

The UKHMA along with Partner Organisations such as the British Ports Association seek greater engagement with UK Regulators to assist in resolving this loop hole preventing increased safety for those using our waters whether for business or leisure.

Please note that this letter has also been sent to the Maritime &Coastguard Agency and the DfT Maritime team for their attention.

We look forward to hopefully receiving a positive response regarding this urgent issue.
